Abstract: I will first derive the most basic aspect of a proto-planetary disk, its temperature. I will then expand to various applications of this property, on the way giving the audience an overview of the field and its many open questions. I will end with one aspect that’s most fascinating to me, how to make rings and gaps in such a disk.
