Harmonization with UTAS

Astronomy courses at the advanced levels will no longer be offered at the Scarborough campus (UTAS); instead DA has agreed to accommodate these advanced students with its St. George-based major and specialist courses, thus making efficient use of teaching resources (see also § 2.2.4).

Our undergraduate faculty plan is based on strong demand on the St. George campus. However, in the context of tri-campus planning, we note that there are about 250 FCEs at UTAS in introductory A&A courses and these are taught by CLTAs (Table 3). To help stabilize this situation, DA has approved an agreement whereby these courses could be mounted using St. George-based faculty and TAs, given appropriate new faculty appointments (see § 4.1.1).
