My Research Interests

My main research interests include CMB foregrounds, magnetic fields in star formation, measuring the magnetic field strength via UV polarimetry, extragalactic dust via Supernova Type Ia , and dust dynamics in magnetized plasma.

Probing Extragalactic Dust with Supernova Type Ia Polarimetry

I currently work on applying my Monte Carlo inversion code to probe interstellar dust in galaxies hosting four Supernova (SN) Type Ia with anomalous polarization curves (Hoang 2015). This especially provides an independent way to test the different models (with/without circumstellar material) of the trigger of SNe Ia explosion. This is currently a very active field.
