Research Summary

[ Computational Astrophysics, Cosmology and CMB ]

Pen's main research interests include application of numerical simulations to astrophysical fluids, and the study of the epoch of reionization. Simulations are enabled by the significant CITA computing infrastructure, especially the 540 processor "McKenzie" cluster and the 500 GB "lobster" itanium cluster. Scientific results include MHD studies of non-radiative accretion, and cosmological large scale structure.
