Summary

This is the second EPAR program, the unique type of training program in Vietnam which will bring astronomers and students together to work on specific research topics in astrophysics. In 2019, the program runs 2 weeks, hosted by Tay Nguyen University and Nha Trang National Astronomical Observatory. The program welcomes students from all parts of the world who are senior undergraduate students or graduate students searching for an internship or research experiences. Vietnamese students who are searching for a place to host their chuyen de, khoa luan are also welcomed. Participants can come for a shorter period or for the whole duration of the program, and are encouraged to come back year after year. The Exploration Program in Astrophysics Research runs for 2 weeks. We welcome 2-4 visiting scientists and ~10 students to team up and conduct common research projects. Maximum 2 projects are conducted in each program. The projects are designed such that they can be sub-divided into individual sub-projects and tailored to match with the availability of the supervisor that year. Each week, one or two scientists are responsible for the scientific theme and student supervision. Typically, a daily lecture/seminar of one hour in the morning is demanded which then followed by the teamwork conducting the research projects throughout the day. Students are expected to present their progress in the Friday's afternoon. We foresee a weekend visiting National Observatory in Nha Trang or ICISE in Quy Nhon.
