DA has a strong and comprehensive graduate program for its large body of students, including a well-defined core curriculum at the M.Sc. level (C8R p. 2). There is constant renewal and the most recently approved revisions will be implemented in 1999/2000. New faculty will add breadth in exciting emerging fields and instrumentation. The graduate student presence in DA is in turn vital to the success of its research and the undergraduate teaching activity (skilled, enthusiastic TAs are essential).
