Interdisciplinary Initiatives

Cooperation with CITA and cognate departments to promote A&A teaching and research is one of our chief goals. The joint DA-CITA-Physics Collaborative M.Sc. program has been established (§ 2.3.2). A new specialist undergraduate program in Planetary Sciences (PLN) (§ 2.2.1) is in place, in cooperation with Chemistry, Geology, and Physics. A joint appointment with Physics in Experimental Astrophysics has led to an excellent hire (§ 2.5.4). Martin, from CITA, will assume the chair of DA. Efforts like the above will act to enhance the linkages already formed.
