Press Clippings
HPCS2010 put out a press release about our Nature Physics article, which was picked up by some trade press.
The University of Chicago Chronicle has a
nice article about when we won a Gordon
Bell Award with a very large simulation with the FLASH code (a code I was/am a
developer for),
and another good article discussing our work in validation
— that is, comparison to experiments to ensure we're actually
getting correct results in some regime.
The University of Chicago Magazine has an article
about complex systems generally that includes discussion of several
FLASH center simulations I was involved with, and the university Chronicle
mentioned my getting
the McMinn award for teaching outside of the University.
USA Today has an
article discussing the FLASH center, code, and some work I was
involved with on classical Novae.
CITA has a a
news article on my being given the CITA Bishop Fellowship.
JINA (the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics)
has a little release out
on some work I did with Frank Timmes on ignition in white dwarfs.
The Globe and Mail had a short article on an... unusual public panel discussion event at Hart House that I was part of; The Strand, one of the college newspapers in town, also covered it. CIUT aired the discussion and will host an archived (audio) webcast of the event.
