The weekly astrophysical fluids discussion group meets on
Thursdays at 11:10 in Rm. 1318A to discuss recent or classic hydrodynamic
and MHD papers of astrophysical interest. Everyone is welcome, and is
invited to suggest papers for discussion.
This week we'll be discussing
- “The Turbulent Magnetic Prandtl Number of MHD Turbulence in Disks” by Guan & Gammie, arXiv:0903.3757;
- “The effect of ram pressure on the star formation, mass distribution and morphology of galaxies” by Kapferer et al., arXiv:0903.3818; and
- “Tayler instability of toroidal magnetic fields in MHD Taylor-Couette flows” by Ruediger & Shultz, arXiv:0903.3831.
As always, suggestions for other papers are always welcome!
