Toronto, ON, Dec 19 -- Richard Bond, Professor and past Director of the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics, was named today to the Province of Ontario's most prestigious honour, the Order of Ontario.

Bond is one of 27 recipients this year, representing Ontarians who have achieved excellence in fields from science to social issues. The award ``recognizes Ontarians who have made an outstanding contribution to society in Ontario and around the world,'' and is presented by the Lieutenant Governor.

The Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics (CITA) is a world-class, nationally supported, research center for studies in theoretical astrophysics and related subjects hosted by the University of Toronto.
