Abstract:
The South Pole Telescope (SPT) has, for the past 3 years, been observing and mapping the microwave sky on arcminute scales. These observations constitute the first stage of an eventual ~2000 sq deg survey, and were taken with the goal of developing a Sunyaev Zel'dovich selected catalog of galaxy clusters. I will be presenting the recently published 2008 SPT measurements of the the secondary anisotropy, as well as previewing the scope and cosmological relevance of an upcoming SZ cluster catalog.
