Abstract:
We discuss theories of modified gravity used as possible mechanisms to
generate late time acceleration in the universe. We consider the different
ways in which these theories can be constrained by both cosmological and
astrophysical observations related to the homogeneous expansion of the
universe and the growth of density fluctuations which seed structure.
